The Epson UltraChrome HD ink-set includes
Photo Black, Light Black, Light Light Black and Matte Black inks to help produce
images with stunning levels of detail when printed in both colour and black
and white. Epson UltraChrome HD Ink creates exciting new possibilities for
photographic and print professionals with the a superior level of printing
precision, durability and quality, plus Four possible levels of black inks
now available. (Printer dependant) The results are an unrivalled black and
white capability that could exceed anything seen before from a colour printer,
as well as great colour images.
So how is this made possible?
The science behind Epson UltraChrome HD pigment ink ensures you get superior
black and white and colour photographs under any light conditions. Until now,
light colour inks have been used to produce grey mid-tones and highlights.
UltraChrome HD ink significantly improves overall grey balance, eliminating
colour casts with the introduction of - Light Light Black - which produces
denser blacks minus colour twists or tonal jumps. Three black tones achieve
a more stable and accurate grey balance, which also allow for more accurate
colour control due to the smaller amount of colour ink used. This means there
is minimum retouching so colours stay faithful to the original image. The
high density pigments of Epson UltraChrome HD ink help to produce prints
with an extremely wide colour gamut, so you can reproduce the colours seen
when you captured the image. This is also a resin-coated pigment ink that
achieves superb longevity and durability, smooth colour control and virtually
no metamerism, ideal to use with fine art media and speciality paper. A further
innovation of UltraChrome HD ink is that the standard of black and white
printing is raised, so skin tones come alive while shadows reveal subtleties
lost on other printers. The three black inks and low saturation inks - such
as Light Cyan and Light Magenta - allow for subtle colour toning. Professional
photographers producing black and white images will appreciate this, but anyone
using Ultrachrome HD ink will see the benefit.
PowerChrome ink uses InkTec's own ®Nano Coating Technology to prevent discoloration
for a long period of UV light exposure. Incorporating double density pigments,
PowerChrome produces prints with an extremely wide colour gamut allowing the
reproduction of colours as originally envisioned at the point of capture.
With Photo Black, Light Black, Matte Black, the ink can perfectly reproduce
the rich impression of a black and white photo.
Furthermore, recognizing that the Epson
Piezo head, which uses the electric vibration to disperse the ink, may not
perform well if foam exists in the ink, PowerChrome is designed to be free
of the foam from the selection of the raw materials in the blending and manufacturing.
Due to technical difficulties, many
ink manufacturers do not offer pigment ink or only offer the pigment black
inks, but InkTec's PowerChrome is available in all colours based on their
outstanding dispersing technology and excellent colour presentation. This
includes the photo colours of red, blue and other pigment colours that increase
colour quality of the graphics. If you want to print an image that will be
kept for long time, PowerChrome ink is recommended as it offers high durability
and lightfastness for matt paper, glossy paper as well as the other papers.
PowerChrome ink is the answer for high priced printers or professional looking
pictures.
Ultrachrome Printer Ink
Epson UltraChrome ink is one of the most important advances
made in printing. Achieving superb color expression on a variety of media
is made possible by an increase of the density of pigment content in the ink,
which also provides for a much wider range of media support. Even with greater
pigment density, each particle has an extremely smooth and uniform resin coating,
ensuring superbly sharp image reproduction on both specialty media and plain
paper along with marked improvements in light and water resistance.
These pictures show an enlarged cross-sectional image of printing - Ideal
light reflection broadens the range of color reproduction.
