Kevlar Gloves

Kevlar Gloves are a must today. In fact, gloves as everybody knows and understands are pieces of garments which help protect the hands and keep them warm during the cold winter months. Gloves are being used for a number of purposes like in factories and manufacturing plants where people have to deal with dangerous components or heavy machinery.

Gloves have become such an integral part of life that they are being used right from doing household chores like dish washing, cleaning, gardening, in hospitals by surgeons and doctors and healthcare professional, by policemen and by criminals, workers in factories, in laboratories, in different types of sports like football, baseball, billiards, while snowboarding, ice skating, skiing, riding motorcycles, driving cars and least of all to keep the hands warm during the cold winter months.

In the earlier years people working in factories and manufacturing companies used to wear gloves which were heavy and thick so as to protect their hands from cuts and abrasions which could occur while they are handling hazardous materials or even heavy tools and machinery.

The gloves that these workers wear should be ideal for material handling, protect them against cuts, punctures and abrasions while the y provide a high level of dexterity and sensitivity at the same time.

People working in construction industry need to have their hands well protected against abrasive surfaces, splinters from wood and metal and from other injuries. All these people need gloves which are not only ergonomically designed but also which provide support for the different parts of the hands like the wrist and fingers and also should be able to give a cushioning effect to the hands.

To make these types of gloves advances in technology in making high fiber and yarns have made it possible to produce gloves which address the needs of these hazardous professions.

Kevlar is a high performance Para aramid synthetic fiber which was originally developed by DuPont in 1965 by Stephanie Kwolek and Herbert Blades and it began to be commercially used by the early 70's.

This para-aramid fabric is a very exceptional fiber which provides strength to the Kevlar gloves and help to protect the hands even in extreme temperature. These Kevlar gloves offer maximum dexterity of the fingers and comfort and are highly resistant to cuts and abrasions and heat.

The Kevlar glove can protect the hands if it comes into contact with fire where the temperatures can be as high as 350 degrees Celsius. These gloves made out of the Kevlar fiber will not burn at any point of time, or even melt in extreme hot temperatures and a very ideal substitute for gloves which have been made out of asbestos material. The Kevlar gloves offer protection to the hands against hot metal splashes and open flame.
